Jane Leary / Nordic Walking Instructor

About

Based in Sawbridgeworth on the border of Hertfordshire and Essex, I like to spend time in the great outdoors. As you can see I am not slow to get on my skis whenever a good snowfall creates the opportunity!

I enjoy outdoor pursuits including, of course, cross-country skiing but also the associated dry land activities of roller skiing, Nordic blading and Nordic walking. I have also experienced a period of ill-health and understand what it is like to have to recover one's fitness and well-being.

I am a qualified health walk leader, Nordic walking, cycling and fitness instructor and am especially keen to bring walkers of all ages and abilities to the pleasures and benefits of exercising with poles through Nordic walking.

It's a great way to improve fitness, health and well-being, both physical and mental, whilst at the same time enjoying your surroundings and the company of your walking companions.

Regular Nordic walkers with me say:

'I enjoy Nordic walking because it is a great workout which leaves me feeling full of energy, while meeting new friends and exploring the countryside. I have also improved my upper body strength, stamina and posture.'
Angela

'I have been Nordic Walking since it started in Stevenage two years ago. It is very invigorating, and works the whole body. It has helped me improve movement to a shoulder injury. The other walkers are very friendly and we have a good old chin wag while walking. The scenery is lovely.' Vivien
