Mary Wray / Nordic Walking Instructor
About
Let your feet keep you fit – that’s my motto.
Nordic walking is great exercise that gets you outdoors in the fresh air and you can do it almost anywhere. You can explore, meet new people, spot wildlife and get fitter along the way. That’s why I decided to teach nordic walking and help others enjoy this fantastic activity.
You'll find details of my current programme on my website www.movingfeet.co.uk where you can also book online:
- a taster session
- an introductory workshop
- an introductory course
- a nordic walk for fitness class
- private sessions for individuals or small groups
Hyde Park, Regent’s Park, Hampstead Heath and Richmond Park are my regular venues for group sessions. Private lessons can be booked in other parks in central or west London.

As a nordic sports enthusiast I’m also a Snowsport England qualified cross country ski and rollerski instructor. This means I lead nordic ski holidays for one of the top adventure travel companies in the ski season and teach rollerski-ing in London. I also spend time in Greece where old ladies find it puzzling that I walk with two sticks when they only use one!
But I wasn’t always so sporty … at school you’d find me at the back of the PE class and my marketing career kept me pretty desk-bound. When I hit my thirties I realised I needed do something about my fitness, started running [not very far!] and revisited cycling.
I learnt to cross country ski and rollerski, kept developing my skills, discovered nordic walking and eventually launched Moving Feet to encourage others to enjoy nordic sports.
